Daydream Disorders

Too much daydreaming? For some, daydreams become an altered reality. They may find it difficult to differentiate between their daydreams and reality and thus can develop a true disorder.  Daydreams for them may serve as a creative or protective retreat.  

Von Munchausen's Disorder. This daydreaming disorder is only labeled in children. It is classified

by inattention in the classroom due to their daydreaming tendencies. Children who exhibit this disorder often have a faraway look in their eyes, withdrawal from class participation and sometimes open-mouthed snoring.  This disorder is completely treatable with pharmaceutical therapies.
